Endorsement of Marriage Certificates and other Certificates for civil purpose
When required by law and civil regulations, certificates issued by the Catholic Church in Kuwait may be endorsed by the Apostolic Nunciature to serve official purposes and to facilitate the issuance of governmental attestations.
Below are some examples of certificates that can be endorsed by the Apostolic Nunciature:
- marriage certificate
- baptism certificate
- certificate of confirmation
- certificate of declaration of matrimonial nullity.
The authentication service is open every day, from Sunday to Thursday, from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon.
It is not necessary to make an appointment, but it is advisable to contact the Secretariat of the Apostolic Nunciature by telephone in advance.
Papal blessings and parchments
The Holy Father gives blessings to the Catholic faithful for special occasions. These blessings are a sign of the Pope's solicitude and closeness to the faithful throughout the world at the most significant moments of their lives. The attestation of these blessings comes in the form of a decorated parchment, which bears the details of the person and the occasion for which the blessing is given.
Circumstances and occasions for which papal blessing parchments are granted
1. Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation (only for a single person)
2. Marriage
3. Priestly Ordination
4. Religious Profession
5. Ordination of Permanent Deacons
6. Anniversary (10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80 years) of Marriage, Priestly Ordination, Religious Profession
7. Birthday (18, 30, 40, 50, 55, 60, 65,70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100-110 years).
Requirements
The person for whom the papal blessing is intended should be both Catholic and practicing.
How to apply
Directly on the website of the Office of Papal Charities.
At the Apostolic Nunciature, through your Parish Priest. The following information must be provided: the name and surname of the person(s) for whom the Blessing is being requested; the reason or occasion prompting the request; the date, the name of the church, and the place where the occasion is taking place and for which the Blessing is being requested.
